The Steadies take the explosively popular Top 40 sound and mix it with rocksteady and reggae influences, creating what they’ve dubbed, “island rock.” No matter your mood, The Steadies pick you up and carry you to the beach in your mind, the club in your dreams, the place you go to clear your head and dance. It’s a scene where rumbling fault lines rip open the dance floor, and the only thing that keeps you from falling over is the gravitational pull of the steady beat. The Steadies aren’t invited to the party---they are the party.

The Steadies have played over 500 shows including performances with Grammy award-winners The Roots, The Wailers, Collective Soul, Arrested Development, K-OS, Bedouin Soundclash and more. The band has headlined countless festivals across Canada and have showcased at the Winter Olympics, the Grey Cup, and at numerous industry conferences.

For their last release, a self-titled EP which was nominated for a Western Canadian Music Award, the band collaborated with multi-platinum producer Ryan Stewart (Carly Rae Jepsen's Call Me Maybe), whose work has gone number one in 37 countries. The lead single, See You When I Go, charted in the top-50 at radio across Canada.

The Steadies are working on their new full-length album, Starcity Shakedown, coming in 2013.

The Artful Dodger Cafe & Music Emporium is located on the main floor of the Windhover Artists & Events Inc. building at 1631 11th Avenue. The main floor is 5,400 sq. ft. featuring a wonderful cafe, art gallery, and hangout space.
