We literally have great things brewing to celebrate this national event. We kick off the week with the release of our Three Down Pilsner commemorative lager. It was first brewed by Jason Carlsberg and is the 2013 gold medal winner of the national amateur brewing competition operated by the Ale and Lager Enthusiasts of Saskatchewan Brewing Club, and hosted by the Bushwakker Brewpub. The winning brewer gets to brew his beer on a commercial scale in the Bushwakker brewery. Jason used five types of malt, including lightly toasted Saskatchewan two row pale malted barley and Bohemian Pilsner malt, and Saaz hops for his beer. That produces rich and complex malt flavours balanced by spicy hop bitterness. Jason is a Saskatchewan Roughrider fan living in Winnipeg. The beer was been aging for many months awaiting its debut to a national audience. A special beer label has been commissioned by local artist and designer, Gavin De Lint and will appear on the limited number of bottles that will be made available. They are sure to be a delicious souvenir of this national sporting event. Our kitchen is also taking part by expanding upon our extremely popular Rider home game Burger & a Pint feature. Every day of the week a different burger will be offered which is inspired by a different CFL team. On Grey Cup Sunday, the two burgers offered will represent the two contending teams.
