Gremlins! At the Saskatchewan Science Centre

August 14, 6:30 PM

There is so much good stuff happening at the Science Centre this summer that we've had to extend our hours! Through the summer the Saskatchewan Science Centre is open late on Wednesday evenings - until 9pm. Come and see all of our great exhibits, including our visiting exhibition How to Make a Monster! To sweeten the deal even more, we're also going to be screening staff favorite (and family-friendly-ish) monster movies in our small movie theatre! The movies start at 6:30pm and will be completed by 9pm when we close. On Wednesday, August 14th, we're showing Gremlins from 1984. It's been decades since Gremlins was on the big screen, and now is your chance to see it again! Often thought of as a Christmas movie, Gremlins tells the tale of a young man who gets a Mogwai named Gizmo as a present. Unfortunately, the young man breaks some cardinal rules in caring for the creature including 1) No Water and 2) No Food After Midnight. This movie is rated PG with Frightening Scenes. Parents should be aware that while we have tried to feature movies that are fun and campy, there may still be scenes that would frighten young children or material that may be inappropriate for young children. IMDB has an excellent parent’s guide for movies – the Gremlins page can be found here: http://imdb.to/15CmgRN Hope to see you there!
