Regina Word Up is held on the first and third Friday’s of every month. Regularly, the first Friday is a community stage, and our third Friday is a poetry slam.

Come watch Regina’s best performance poets spit words and wit for a chance to represent our community at the Canadian Individual Poetry Slam!

Participating poets were selected based on their scores from January to January. The poet who wins this slam will travel to Vancouver in April to share their poetry on the national stage alongside top talent from across the country.

This event will include 3 rounds, in which poets will share a 2-minute poem, a 1-minute poem, and a 4-minute poem. The rest of the format and rules are the same as any regular slam. Due to time constraints, there will be no feature and no open mic.

Audience members, come prepared with a good set of lungs and some strong fingers to snap with.
