Regina Word Up Youth is Regina’s only youth-specific spoken word performance series. This event is held on a Wednesday for one night only!

A Youth Stage is an opportunity to share work with our peers and greater community. No scores and all support, this event is a great opportunity for youth (14-22) who want more exposure or practice, or want to share something that doesn’t usually fit within our regular poetry slams. Rants, stories, jokes (the punnier, the better!) songs, or poems are all welcome on our stage.

Have something you want to share that we didn’t list? We love creativity, and we would probably let you perform…just ask us! Regina Word Up Youth Stage is for youth of all skill levels interested in sharing stories – of any kind. We celebrate all styles of writing and voices, and encourage our community to support these very important vessels of truth.

There is a gentle time limit of 5 minutes per person to allow enough time for all of our community. If you have more to share than that, we will allow you another five minute block after everyone has performed, time permitting.

Audience members, come prepared with snapping fingers and a good pair of lungs, as always!
