Formed in 1991, Lowest of the Low was one of the most influential bands on the Canadian alternative music scene.   Their debut album, Shakespeare My Butt, is listed as one of the greatest ten albums in Canadian music history.  In 2008 the group was inducted into the Canadian Indie Rock Hall of Fame. The band has also been cited as a major influence by The Weakerthans and have had their songs covered by numerous artists including Jeremy Fisher and Charles J. Hunk.

In 2011 to honor the 20th anniversary of Shakespeare My Butt, Lowest of the Low reunited for a sold out spring tour.  The band has recently released two new singles which are currently available for free download on their website, and they are back on the road for a few more shows.
