AndersonBurko

May 3, 7:00 PM, Artesian on 13th

AndersonBurko is comprised of Roy Anderson and Darrell Burko, principal musicians, vocalists and songwriters. Their musical style can best be described as roots, seamlessly combining folk, rock, country and blues. It is characterized by colourful and grounded songwriting by both Anderson and Burko whose styles, while similar, offer refreshing contrasts. Strong vocals and harmonies are a trademark of AnB's sound.

Roy and Darrell performed together in bands, most notably Saskatchewan's MuckRakers, but more often their music was shared in kitchens, garages and basements, or around campfires where they created and refined their sound as a duo. A big step was taken in 2009 with the formation of the AndersonBurko Band and the production and release of their first CD, Enjoy the Show. This album of ten original songs and two covers was met with enthusiastic reviews. Live performances that followed in Saskatchewan and Alberta were no less enthusiastically received, selling the entire 1,000 copies of the run. They followed two years later with Mitch's Garage, a collection of twelve originals songs.

As part of their Saskatchewan/Alberta spring tour, the AndersonBurko Band will be performing at the Artesian in Regina on Saturday, May 3rd. The evening will include songs from their first two CDs, a mix of new songs the duo are currently recording for their third CD - to be released in October – and a handful of their favourites by other artists.

The doors will open at 7:00, and the show will start at 8:00. Admission is $20 (children $10), and tickets are available at the door the night of the show, or in advance at Mysteria Gallery (2706 13th Avenue).

Their music is available through CDBaby and iTunes. More information can also be found at www.andersonburko.com.
