Golden Apple Theatre presents: Mary's Wedding

The Golden Apple Theatre is pleased to present Mary’s Wedding as its opening production of the 2014-2015 season. Directed by Golden Apple Theatre co-artistic director Andorlie Hillstrom, Mary’s Wedding stars Jeff Irving and Tess Degenstein, with Samira Rose stage managing and Wes Pearce as designer.

One of the most widely performed Canadian productions, Mary’s Wedding has never before been seen in Regina. Written by award -winning Canadian playwright Stephen Massicotte, Mary’s Wedding portrays life during the First World War, through the eyes of a Canadian prairie girl.

Mary’s Wedding is set during the First World War, and tells is the story of a young English woman transplanted to the Prairies, and her first love, a farm boy named Charlie. Through flashbacks of key moments in their budding romance and Charlie’s tour of duty with the Strathcona Horse Regiment in France’s Moreuil Wood, the audience is able to gain an understanding of the hardships and sacrifices many families made for Canada during the First World War.

The Golden Apple Theatre’s production of Mary’s Wedding runs November 4-15. Tickets are $35 for adults and $25 for students, and $20 for the preview performances on November 4; available at Cobb Swanson Music, Bach & Beyond, and online at GoldenAppleTheatre.com.
