Andy Shauf

February 20, 8:00 PM, Artesian on 13th

We're thrilled to have local singer/songwriter Andy Shauf returning to the Artesian Friday, February 20th 2015, this time with Special Guest Marine Dreams (solo) set to open the night.

Known for honest, self-reflective songs as well as captivating lyrical works of fiction and an intimate live show, Andy Shauf is quickly becoming one of the most intriguing emerging songwriters.

The Bearer of Bad News explores themes of uncertainty, curiosity and spirituality. The unsettling stories told on The Bearer of Bad News came as Shauf wrote both at home and on the road. Musically, the record took shape in his modest home studio in Regina, Canada, where Shauf spent 4 years recording each song himself.

Bearer is 11 songs built from the sounds of a weathered piano, the warm tone of his guitar’s aged strings, and a clarinet. At the heart is Andy’s one-of-a-kind voice and dark, literate storytelling.

“Andy's Shauf's acoustic songs made me think of the late Elliott Smith's beautiful music in that they sound intricate and ghostly." - Huw Stephens, NME / BBC1 Radio Host

Doors Open at 7:00PM, the Show will Start at 8:00PM. Tickets are just $15 in Advance, or $20 at the Door.
