We are thrilled to be presenting Newfoundland's sensational roots/folk band 'The Once' on Wednesday, March 25th at Artesian; appearing with Special Guest Sarah MacDougall!

Doors will Open at 7:00PM, the Performance Starts at 8:00PM Tickets are $25 in Advance or $30 at the Door. This is an all-ages event.

The Once has been quietly making a name for themselves in their native Canada. The Newfoundland-based band has collected a trio of Canadian Folk Music Awards, been named Newfoundland & Labrador Art Council’s Artist of the Year and earned a Juno nomination for best Roots/Traditional album. In the coming year, however, the rest of the world will get to discover the joyous, harmony-rich acoustic music that have made them such favorites in their homeland.

Departures represents the Once’s most honest and personal effort to date, with songs ranging from Dale’s admittedly sappy love song to his fiancée “You Lead I Will Follow” to “The Town Where You Lived,” a tune that Churchill wrote for his father who died over a dozen years earlier. Churchill admits that he hasn’t been able to talk to even his friends about his dad’s death before writing this song.

Western Canadian Music Award winning artist Sarah MacDougall is an upcoming artist who is getting known for her honest and poetic songs, passionate performances, and unique voice. Born in Sweden, 24 hrs Vancouver called her ‘one of the most promising exports out of Sweden since Abba’, Swedish magazine Nöjesguiden recently declared her “One of Sweden’s best singer/songwriters”.
