SHRED KELLY
Since the inception of Shred Kelly, the Fernie BC based band have been re-defining what folk-rock means. Through their individual pan-Canadian backgrounds, Tim Newton, Sage McBride, Jordan Vlasschaert, Ian Page-Shiner, and Ty West have amplified the traditional sound of folk music with a more contemporary approach. Pushing the boundaries of the genre, they have incorporated a wide range of influences to create a sound that is uniquely called ‘Stoke Folk.’ The band is best known for their dynamic, high-energy and engaging live show that leaves no dance floor vacant.
Shred Kelly has garnered themselves sold-out shows across Canada, performed at some of the Nation’s premier festivals, and received a growing list of awards and recognition. They recently won ‘Album of the Year’ and ‘Best Live Act’ at 2015 Kootenay Music Awards and are nominated for a 2015 West Coast Music Award for ‘Best Music Video’ for their latest single ‘Sing to the Night.’
Shred Kelly released their 3rd album – ‘Sing To The Night’ – on January 27th 2015. The new material shows the growth and depth that the band has explored throughout the creative process, and once again demonstrates their signature claw-hammer banjo riffs, layered ambient synth, powerhouse rock, and sweet vocal harmonies. Their acclaimed producer John Critchley (Elliott Brood, Dan Mangan, Amelia Curran, The Once) from Green Door Studios was a master at creating an album that pushed their creativity and gave Shred Kelly a new take on their signature sound, which translates perfectly onto an album, or a packed dance floor.

BEARS IN HAZENMORE
Bears in Hazenmore is an alternative-ambient folk group from the heart of the prairies, Regina Saskatchewan. Since its formation in 2014, the band has become known for their ambient soundscapes and ability to draw audiences in with intimate lyricism and enticing builds. Operating as a 5-piece ensemble that includes extensive use of effects driven guitar, brass and woodwind textures, and dynamic percussion, they draw strong influences and comparisons to groups such as Bon Iver, Local Natives and Explosions in the Sky. A diversity of tastes from the members' rich backgrounds in jazz, classical and rock music resonates through their sound as well. As they continue to grow as band, they are constantly experimenting with new sounds and grooves that make them a unique member of Canada’s independent music scene.
The five members Brady Frank (lead vocals/guitar/keys), Dana Rempel (bass/sax), Darnell Stewart (guitar), Tanner Wilhelm Hale (drums/vocals), Dalton Lam (trumpet) have their roots in Swift Current, SK where they all attended high school and met through different musical endeavours. Shortly after launching the project in March 2014, the group released their debut self-titled EP to great reviews from many blogs and local music commentators. Tracks off the EP have also gained national recognition through CBC Music contests Rock Your Campus (Top 10 finish) and Searchlight. “Epic. That's the first word that comes to mind when listening to this amazing builder of a song (These Northern Mountains) by this indie-folk-soundscape band from Regina. Check 'em out if you like Bon Iver, City in Colour or Great Lake Swimmers” –Grant Lawrence (CBC Music).
Moving forward, Bears in Hazenmore is planning their next release for summer 2015 along with a busy touring schedule that will take them to Canadian Music Week in Toronto and the west coast.

ANDINO SUNS
Andino Suns – 2015 Western Canadian Music Award nominees for World Recording of the Year.
Genre: Modern Andean Party Music
Regina’s multi-instrumental group Andino Suns have been captivating audiences since 2009 with fiery instrumentation, inspirational live performances and a resounding message of freedom, hope and love. Their music fuses the vibrant traditional sounds of the Andes Mountains with modern Latin grooves and rhythms.
Known for being instinctively adventurous and musically inquisitive, Andino Suns began with Chilean-Canadians Andres and Pablo Davalos and Andres Palma, as an effort to recreate the traditional Andean music of their childhood. In 2013, the band released their self-titled debut album, a collection of beautifully upbeat acoustic songs performed entirely in Spanish. Their sophomore album, It’s Time to Rise, followed one year later, adding a heavy dose of rock and roll and other styles to the band’s traditional Andean sound. Performances followed across Canada at high-profile festivals and showcases including JUNOfest, Ness Creek Music Festival, Sasktel Jazz Festival, and Regina Folk Festival in Saskatchewan; Festival du Bout du Monde, and Festival des Traditions du Monde in Quebec; and Cold Snap Festival in British Columbia. In 2014, the band was also selected to represent Saskatchewan at Mundial Montreal, North America's premier world music showcase event.
"A wild and wooly melding of Ennio Morriconne and Manu Chao."
Roddy Cambell, publisher of Penguin Eggs, for April 2014 Penguin Eggs Pick - CKUA
In 2015, It’s Time to Rise was recognized by the music industry and nominated for a Western Canadian Music Award for World Recording of the Year. Building on this momentum, the Suns will be hitting the studio in the near future to work on their third album, conceived as a dynamic return to their Andean folk roots and the promise of their best music to date.
Exuberant, rousing, political, and spiritual, Andino Suns have forged a sound that continues to ignite festival audiences and dance-floors wherever they play.
