Bev Zizzy CD Release

Join acoustic soul singer/songwriter BEV ZIZZY & FRIENDS as she launches her 4th album Standing on a platform of KINDNESS on Saturday, June 25. Doors open at 7:30PM, Show starts at 8. Tickets are $20. Bev will also be featuring two solo acoustic openers, a debut performance from her album producer featuring his new act MAN WITH 100 CELLS, followed by DEL SUELO sharing music from his new album I am Free.

Lifelong yoga practitioner, adventurous world traveller, and former award winning language and literature teacher, BEV ZIZZY channels her extensive experience into songwriting and guitar stylistics to inspire social conscience, connection, and compassion. Bev's 4th album Standing on a platform of KINDNESS features eleven original compositions, all of which have the common thread of kindness, a guiding aspiration that Bev seeks to live by. Her deeply honest, soul-baring songs touch upon life's challenges, but always there is an underlying positive current seeking the better story.

Recorded at Studio One in Regina, the album features 13 tracks, 13 musicians, and an eclectic array of instruments, including piano, violin, cello, flute, bass, kit drum, congas and box percussion, acoustic and slide guitars, banjo, harmonica, wind chimes and singing bowls. In her latest album, which Bev self designed and co-produced with Chris Notenboom (Sylvie), Bev’s evolution as a songwriter, jazz, and blues singer is evident as she crosses into a new genre of contemporary adult music she identifies as Acoustic Soul. Bev will be joined in the release by nine of the original musicians on the album, taking her powerful songwriting to a new level of musical accomplishment.

The album lyrics reinforce Bev’s appreciation of diversity and her belief that our similarities are greater than our differences. Her smoky vocal delivery is intense, innovative, and compelling, and her heartfelt, insightful, stories memorable, engaging, and inspiring.
