Wildwood Fire - by Lauren de Graaf and Kelsey Krogman
September 13, 8:00 PM, Artesian on 13th
Regina, SK – The Artesian is excited to be presenting Wildwood Fire by Lauren de Graaf and Kelsey Krogman -- it's a courageous and heartfelt love story about being married to the Man in Black. If you enjoy the music of Johnny Cash and June Carter Cash, or are fascinated by their story of victory over tragedy, you'll love this show too.
Performances will run nightly from Tuesday, September 12th through Thursday, September 14th at 8:00PM. We’ll open the Doors & Lounge at 7:30PM. Tickets are $20, or $15 for Students & Seniors. The performance runs about 60-Minutes long, and there is no Intermission.
Wildwood Fire tells the story of June Carter Cash (Lauren de Graaf) and Mother Maybelle Carter (Alix Cowman). June and her mother Maybelle are set to play a concert, but Johnny has landed himself in the hospital. What’s a Carter girl to do when the show must go on? With old country classics like Ring of Fire, Jackson, and Worried Man Blues, you’ll hear June Carter Cash and her mother Maybelle Carter sing their way through the joys and the tears that come with loving the Man in Black.
Wildwood Fire features Lauren de Graaf and Alix Cowman – if those names sound familiar, it’s because they’re two members of the up-and-coming band, The Dearhearts. They released their self-titled debut in October of 2014, and just a few months later became the Calgary Regional Champs in CBC’s annual Searchlight competition (and were among the Top 23 new bands in Canada…). So you can be sure that you’ll hear fantastic renditions of those country classics when you see Wildwood Fire at the Artesian.
