2018 Mayor
May 8, 11:00 AM, Delta Hotel
Mayor Michael Fougere and The Caring Place invite you to join us at the 6th Annual Mayor's Luncheon In Support Of Mental Health.
This year’s speaker is none other than Patch Adams speaking about caring for yourself and the one’s you Love! This is an important message that epitomizes the motto of The Caring Place – “there is always a way to find purpose, passion and joy and The Caring Place is here so that you never need to walk that journey alone!”.
Patch Adam’s story became well known when Robin Williams portrayed him in a movie by the same name. Perhaps one of the saddest twists in the Patch Adams story is the fact that Williams, after bringing hope to so many others, succumbed to the hopelessness of depression himself. The Caring Place seeks to help people find a place of refuge, and help to inspire new hope for anyone facing life’s challenges. We believe that no one should ever need to face them alone.
The Caring Place has a 27 year history of serving the Regina Community. Nestled in Cathedral Village, The Caring Place provides more than 5,000 hours of counselling per year for individuals, children, couples, families and groups experiencing depression, relational challenges or other personal issues. The Caring Place has a sliding fee structure, based on income, serving all individuals – including those who would otherwise be unable to receive counselling and support.
