Kramer Imax Theatre

Movies that are larger than life!

The Kramer IMAX Theatre features the largest movie screen in the province – more than 3,800 square feet. It stretches 53’ high and 72’ wide to provide the most immersive movie experience possible.

IMAX is much more than just a giant screen, however. The Kramer IMAX Theatre completes the movie experience with more than 10,000 watts of audio power coming from 6 separate channels. It also features the most comfortable seating in the province – larger, cushier chairs with cup holders and steep stadium seating to ensure that you have a clear line of sight no matter where you are in the audience.

IMAX movies aren’t just bigger – they’re better too! Much more than just expanded versions of other movies, IMAX movies are printed on special 15/70 film allowing for much more detail and incredible resolution! It is estimated that the resolution of an IMAX film is as high as 12,000 x 8,700!

Still not enough? The Kramer IMAX Theatre also offers movies in stunning IMAX 3D.

Perhaps the best known IMAX films are the amazing documentaries that immerse viewers in a topic to share knowledge and the wonder of the universe around us. Typically taking years to film, these movies are so powerful that they can quite literally change the way you see the world.

It doesn’t end there. Recently, some of Hollywood’s top directors have taken notice of the unique advantages of the IMAX film format and have started to shoot today’s blockbusters with the help of IMAX cameras. Directors such as JJ Abrams, Christopher Nolan, Brad Bird, and Michael Bay are using IMAX technology to deliver an unmatched movie going experience.

A full concession offers candies, pop, juice and the best buttered popcorn in the city! We also offer hot pizza and hot dogs during most show times.

The Kramer IMAX Theatre is also proud to offer an Atom + Geek gift kiosk in the lobby that provides you with a variety of education and science-related gift items, toys, and products not available anywhere else in the city.
