The French Press

Laurel Dupuis, the owner of the French Press Coffee & Tea Co. in Regina SK originally comes from a small French community in rural Saskatchewan.
Along with head Chef Amy Hutchison, Laurel features unique recipes and fresh daily baking more like a traditional European cafe. Her desire is to have customers welcomed into a warm & inviting atmosphere. Laurel believes the decor of the shop represents her personality... and if I can add, it certainly does, the French Press is a very classy place without any pretence, just like its fabulous owner!

Walk into The French Press and you'll note splashes of Europe mixed with modern North American décor. Painted an elegant shade of yellowy-green, the space is accented with plush royal purple klismos chairs, a high-backed velvet sofa, black and white photographs, and a tasteful mix of antique, modern, whimsical and comfy.

A cozy fireplace nook draws coffee goers wishing to relax over the daily news. French belle Epoque cast iron marble bistro tables with bentwood chairs are perfect for couples on their first date, while a window bar invites those curious to watch the world outside. An antique buffet serves up sugar, cream and cutlery and funky silver chandeliers with contemporary pendant lighting brighten the mood.

The French Press specializes in coffee such as brewed and espresso-based drinks but sadly no French press coffee. The caffeinated espresso is Godfather by Fratello, a quality small batch roaster out of Calgary. The two brewed coffees are a Sumatra medium-light roast, and a Kenyan-Columbian dark roast blend.
